Welcome to The Bridge of Hope House

We needed their help. They answered the call. They went where we sent them. They did as we asked.
Now, when they come home, many of our brave men and women of the Armed Forces need OUR help to get them back on their feet in the civilian world. The culture shock alone can sometimes be a daunting issue when transitioning from military life to civilian life. Then throw in the fact that they often have families they need to support as they try to find a job and a new home. They answered our call, will we now desert them as they come back home to us? We at the Bridge of Hope House say "No Way!" Please, take a look around our site and help us welcome home our bravest and most deserving fellow Americans.

WNPR-Connecticut Public Radio stated:

On his recent visit to Iraq, President Obama told a group of servicemen that “we all share the shame of 154,000 veterans going homeless on any given night.” And, according to numbers from the Department of Defense, those numbers could be even higher. With an increasing number of veterans returning to a decreasing number of jobs—servicemen and women find themselves subject to the same pressures and risks as all Americans during the downturn...and then some. Prolonged separation from family and friends, post traumatic stress disorder, and substance abuse are just some of the things putting our veterans on the streets.

We want to thank every memeber of the Ferndale, Bellingham and Lynden community who came out to support our Second Annual Golf Tournament. This golf tournament was put on by the local Chapter 1 of Combat Veterans International with all proceeds being earmarked for The Bridge of Hope House. As was experienced last year, this years Golf Tournament was a resounding success. Everyone who participated had a great time, perfect weather, and a great day of golfing. It's through participation in events like these that show the great spirit and dedication our community has toward our Veterans. Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you all again next year!
